CHOCOLAT IBLED

1920s - 1935

The records of CHOCOLAT IBLED (a chocolate shop manufacturer from France) were produced for advertising purposes in the 1920s.

Founded in 1824 in Mondicourt by Christophe Ibled, a young pharmacology graduate, the chocolate factory initially operated from a workshop on the Kilienne's banks.

By the early 20th century, it occupied over 20,000 m2 and produced several tonnes of chocolate daily.

Pierre Ibled took over in 1905, relocating the business to Lisieux during World War I, where its chocolate played a role in boosting troop morale.

Under Henry Ibled's leadership, the company adopted a modern business approach and, in 1935, introduced the brand Chocorêve, replacing the original Ibled brand.
