CADET

1946 - 1947

CADET Records was a record label from Hollywood, California. It was founded in 1946 by Jack Riley.

Following the success of the song "Cement Mixer" by the SLIM GAILLARD TRIO, Jack Riley Senior, the father, opened a sales outlet in Kansas City.

There, in November 1946, a new material for records called "Perma Groove" was tested. This material was designed to withstand 1100 plays on a jukebox. A total of 2000 records were pressed from this material. The selling price was 75 cents.
