Alamar

1950s

Alamar was founded by Alfred “Al” Brundage (b. March 8, 1922, Hartford, CT) in the mid 1950s.
Brundage was involved in creating square dance music from the age of fifteen, playing trumpet and eventually performing calls for his band, The King Street Pioneers. In addition to his recordings under his label and others, Brundage was instrumental in introducing a new ‘Western style’ choreography to square and round dances.
