1930 - 1948
ESTA, founded 1930, was a Czechoslovak company which, together with Ultraphon, was "nationalized". During WWII it was the dominant company on the Czech market. It was not economically the best label and recordings made in these years are known to be pressed on poor quality material.
The origin of the label name is the trading society "Foresta" estgablished in November 1928. The company dealt with building materials, especially wood.
It is cited as the first record label based in the Czech capital.
