Ebb Records was founded in Los Angeles by Lee Rupe, the former wife of Art Rupe, the owner of Specialty.
The label specializes in rhythm and blues, especially in vocal groups, and rock 'n' roll. Its main success, in 1957, is the title "Buzz-buzz-buzz" performed by the Hollywood Flames.
