D&R Record, abbreviated as "Double & Reversible," was a gramophone record label active from 1908 to 1912. It operated under a premium-scheme model, where customers received free phonographs in exchange for purchasing a set number of records delivered by mail. Initially, the label was produced by the Leeds & Catlin Company of New York, before Columbia Records took over production in the later years.
Leeds & Catlin, the initial producer of D&R records, was a prominent early American record company involved in both cylinder and disc record production. They began disc production in the early 1900s, collaborating with companies like the Ohio Talking Machine Company and later the Talk-O-Phone Company. Their operations were based in New York, with recording studios at 53 East 11th Street.
