CORDY

1930 - 1932




CORDY, or ‘Electrocordy’ was a trademark of the Electrocord Company mbH, which was founded in September 1930 in Leipzig, Germany. It was registered as a trademark on 6 September 1930. The first Cordy records were released at the beginning of 1931. The repertoire initially consisted only of second-use Electrocord matrices, then Kalliope matrices were added. The first new Cordy recordings appeared from around April 1931. At first the records appeared with the ‘ISI-Blitz’, from around September 1931, with the Cordy man on the label.
The record label was active until around 1932.
