Founding & offices (1946–1947). Ca-Song was launched in October 1946 in New York City by Michael (Mike) Cassone, initially operating from 1625 Broadway.

In late 1947 Cassone ran a short-lived children’s offshoot, the Auto-Photo Record Company (office at 1451 Broadway), whose featured issue was “The Mighty Magic Mandarin,” narrated by Wendy Barrie.

Ca-Song’s original 78-rpm operations appear to have ended in early 1949. That August, Cassone founded Rialto Record Corp.

Decades later, he revived the Ca-Song name for unrelated small-run 7-inch projects in the 1980s/1990s—a separate venture from the 1940s shellac era.
