Biberphon
1929 - 1933
Inventor and name giver of Biberphon was Wilhelm Biber, merchant from Berlin, Germany. He and the merchants Czernotsky and Kratschmer founded the Biberphon Schallplatten Herstellungs und Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH on 31th of october 1929.
The early synthetic records were only produced between 1930 and 1931. The core was made out of celluloid. It was covered with acetylene and cellulose combined with camphor.
Biberphon did not record themselves, matrices from Kalliope has been used. They also used some US-matrices from Banner, Perfect and Plaza.
In summer 1933 the Biberphon Schallplatten Herstellungs und Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH expired.
