HISTORY
The Librola Gramophone, produced by the Seaburg Manufacturing Company in Jamestown, N.Y., was known as the „Library Table Phonograph“ around April 15, 1920.
It emerged from Jamestown’s robust manufacturing sector, historically driven by abundant natural resources like timber and waterways. Jamestown was a significant lumber milling center from the early 1800s, diversifying into various industries including furniture manufacturing.
By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it had become a major furniture manufacturing hub. The Seaburg Manufacturing Company, along with its innovative product, the Librola, were part of this rich industrial landscape in Jamestown.
