Late in 1948, Musicraft filed for bankruptcy, its catalog was leased to MGM Records, which owned it well into the 1950s.

In the 1970s the label was revived by Albert Marx, then president of the renewed Trend and Discovery labels in Los Angeles.

Musicraft's catalog encompassed many different musical styles, including classical music, folk, jazz, Latin, popular vocal, and calypso.
