LUNIVERSE

Label established in 1956 by struggling songwriters Bill Buchanan and Dickie Goodman.

Originally named Universe Records, the "L" was added post-production to about 2000 already pressed discs after the existence of another Universe Records was discovered.

With a few exceptions, nearly all of the releases were Buchanan & Goodman titles, or later, Goodman's solo efforts.

The label ceased production in 1959, but was resurrected in 1997 by Jon Goodman, son of the label's co-founder, for the purpose of releasing reissues of Goodman's work on CD's.
